Veteran’s Campus

This scheme is for the overall redevelopment of the former MOD Wilton Barracks in Salisbury.

Our involvement has included the full design of the Residential scheme and the Community Civic Core. The design of the houses constructed by Redrow reflects the architectural character of the yellow brick / flint houses in Wilton and the 1930s arts and crafts red brick and render of 1930’s Salisbury, both of which form distinct residential character areas.

The Community Civic Core is the heart of this new Wilton Hill neighbourhood, providing 44 Veterans Flats alongside an Enterprise Hub, Care Home and Creche. The Enterprise Hub provides small units in a community setting for young start-up businesses and for ex-servicemen who need to find a pathway into civilian life. The Veterans Flats provide for the rehabilitation of ex-army veterans and has recently been completed by Acheson Construction on behalf of Our Wilton. It includes a training kitchen, community café, meeting space and function hall. Alabaré, a charity organisation that provide supported living for veterans who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, have been allocated 12 of the apartments.
