Tadley Acres
Tadley Acres, Field Farm is a mixed-use urban extension to the south of Shepton Mallet. It comprises around 600 homes, a new school, neighbourhood store, employment and live/work units.
The exemplar scheme reflects the local vernacular of Shepton Mallet and was developed in collaboration with the land owners, the Duchy of Cornwall, to reflect their aspirations for high and exacting standards of traditional and classical architecture.
The Field Farm development has received recognition for its high quality approach to place making and design, including the RIBA ‘Housing Award’ and Mendip District Council ‘Best Volume Housing’ award. The scheme also received recognition from CABE in the ‘National Housing Audit’ report in 2007 which rated the development the highest in the south west region.
