Torridge Marina Village, Bideford.
Located on the north bank of the River Torridge near Bideford, our masterplan included a marina for up to 250 berths, conversion of the existing former farm house into a hotel, medical centre, neighbourhood food store, community building and a retirement community. The scheme was designed to be a new village similar to the nearby settlements of Northam, Instow and Westleigh providing up to 380 new homes.
At least a third of the site was open space with retained woodland, play areas and playing pitches. The open space, combined with the preserved woodland created a ‘Green corridor’ that ran east to west forming a green backdrop to the Harbour Village when viewed from the river.
