Planning Consent for Fair Oak Lodge

On 21st March 2018 Eastleigh Borough Council granted Outline Planning Consent for the Fair Oak Lodge site, Allington Lane, Fair Oak. This established the principle of development of the site to provide 50 units of residential development.

A Reserved Matters Application was submitted on behalf of Bargate Homes by Thrive Architects. Approval was granted on 9th January 2019.

The approval is for the construction of 49 units, providing open spaces and drainage attenuation features as per the outline permission. Accessed from the northern corner off Allington Lane via the creation of a new access road and footway, the location of the built form takes into account the need to retain existing vegetation and habitats and to create attractive new green spaces. The traditional buildings of Fair Oak have provided some inspiration for the proposed development. This wasn’t intended to be prescriptive or restrict design to copying existing development, but to ensure that development is in keeping with the immediate environment.
